The Self-Compassion for Social Workers andHealth Professionals course is a one-hour per week 6-week evidence-based healthcare adaptation of Mindful Self-Compassion, an empirically supported program of Dr. Kristin Neff at UT Austin and Dr. Chris Germer at Harvard Medical School. Research conducted in 2019 shows that this short course program leads to a reduction in stress, depression, secondary traumatic stress and burnout, and an increase in compassion, mindfulness, and job satisfaction in healthcare professionals.
Starting on Thursday 7 May 2020 from 8:00pm to 9:00pm John Julian with Paola Cheng and the US-based Center for Mindful Self-Compassion will present online 6 weekly one hour sessions in Mindful Self-compassion.
